President
President. The President shall preside at the meetings of the Board of Directors. The President shall ensure the supervision and administration of the business and affairs of the Corporation. The President shall play a major role in resource development and in representing the organization within and outside the community. The President, as well as any other proper officer or staff person of the Corporation authorized by the Board of Directors, may sign any deeds, bonds, mortgages, or other instruments and enter into agreements necessary to carry out the missions and programs of the organization, except where these Bylaws or policies adopted by the Board require the signature of some other officer or agent of the Corporation. The President shall communicate to other officers or to the Board of Directors such matters and make such suggestions as may in her/his opinion tend to promote the prosperity and welfare and increase the usefulness of the Corporation, subject to the supervision of the Board of Directors, shall perform all duties customary to that office.
Responsibilities
Work with the secretary to organize board meetings
Attend board meetings, if not available then assign another board person to preside the meeting
Be aware of activities involving Viva Brasil STL association
Representing the organization within and outside the community
Ensure board actions follow the bylaws and mission of the association
Develop current and future board members
Guide the organization to promote growth and prosperity
The President, as well as any other proper officer or staff person of Corporation authorized by the Board of Directors, may sign any deeds, bond, mortgages, or other instruments and enter into agreements necessary to carry out the missions and programs of the organization, except where these Bylaws or policies adopted by the Board require the signature of some other officer or agent of the Corporation.
Work with the Vice-President to keep the bylaws relevant.
Review the bylaws on a yearly basis with all board members
Help coordinate at least one of the yearly activities
Participate in the yearly planning meeting
Execute any other task to ensure the health and safety of the members and the Association
Time Commitment
2 Years Term (Jan. 2024 - Dec. 2025)
Board meetings ( 1 a month - approximately 2 hours each)
Planning meeting, review agenda ( 1 a month - approximately 1 hour each)
Overview of activities (1 to 2 hours a week)
Email communication (1 hour week)
Coordination of an Activity (10 to 20 hours per activity)
Preparation of Presentations (3 hours per presentation)
